Sr Director Data Science (AI)

Location: Lowell, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $233,300–$335,400 per year, plus potential performance-based bonus and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Define and execute the multi-year data science and AI strategy, operating model, governance standards, investment priorities, and success metrics.
• Lead the development of predictive, prescriptive, and generative AI solutions and partner with Engineering to operationalize models at enterprise scale.
• Drive model monitoring, observability, evaluation, continuous improvement, and responsible AI practices covering fairness, explainability, privacy, security, and compliance.
• Partner with Product Management and business stakeholders to define AI-powered product experiences, roadmap priorities, customer value metrics, adoption, and ROI.
• Build, develop, and retain teams of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and managers while establishing career frameworks and talent programs.
• Lead planning, budgeting, staffing, architecture reviews, experimentation frameworks, risk management, and execution across multiple initiatives.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field.
• At least 12 years of experience in data science, analytics, AI, or machine learning.
• At least 5 years of senior leadership experience managing managers and large technical organizations.
• Experience delivering machine learning systems into production at enterprise scale.
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, experimentation, predictive analytics, and AI technologies.
