Packaging and Labeling Technician (Medical Devices)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; onsite work in an office and warehouse environment.

Annual base pay: $40,250–$64,802.50, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Set up, operate, maintain, inspect, and clean packaging, printing, inspection, sealing, and related equipment.
• Improve packaging and labeling equipment, processes, materials, product flow, 5S, and mistake-proofing in collaboration with engineers.
• Assist with equipment validations, feasibility studies, qualification activities, and process documentation.
• Design and improve packaging components, label formats, and label specifications for medical device products.
• Proof labeling documents, route label changes through the change control system, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
• Investigate and troubleshoot complex labeling issues and provide occasional Saturday production support.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of experience in a medical device environment or a similar work environment.
• Knowledge of quality system requirements, including QSRs, ISO, and MDD.
• Knowledge of label and barcode standards, including GTN, GS1, ISO 15416, and 1D and 2D barcodes.
• Experience with 5S, Lean manufacturing, waste reduction, troubleshooting, and managing multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe products, and Seagull BarTender label design software; ability to lift up to 25 pounds or more and sit for prolonged periods.

Nice to have

• Experience with equipment preventive maintenance or calibration.
• Experience with Agile Manufacturing, Good Manufacturing Practices, predictive maintenance, or issue escalation.
