Packaging Engineer II (Medical Devices)

Location: Lafayette, Colorado, United States. Hybrid schedule with on-site presence four days per week and one remote workday per week. No travel required.

Salary: $80,000–$120,000 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain sterile and non-sterile packaging systems for new and existing medical devices.
• Prepare and execute packaging validation protocols, testing activities, and technical reports.
• Create, revise, and maintain packaging specifications, drawings, procedures, and controlled documentation.
• Provide technical support for packaging systems, equipment, manufacturing operations, and process improvements.
• Evaluate packaging materials, supplier changes, cost-reduction opportunities, and packaging change initiatives.
• Collaborate with research and development, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, supply chain, and operations teams to resolve packaging issues and support projects across multiple facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree and 0+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience or demonstrated ability in engineering projects, product development, manufacturing operations, or packaging initiatives.
• Ability to conduct technical evaluations, analyze data, and implement engineering solutions.
• Must work from the United States and attend the Lafayette site four days per week.
• Must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering.
• Experience in medical devices or another regulated manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of packaging materials, validation methodologies, packaging equipment, and packaging system design.
• Experience preparing procedures, technical reports, specifications, test protocols, and project documentation.
• Experience managing multiple projects and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
