Native American Studies Non-Tenure Track Faculty (Applicant Pool)

What you will do

• Teach Native American Studies courses on campus or online as needed.
• Advise, evaluate, mentor, and assist students.
• Develop and update curricula and course materials.
• Build classroom rapport with freshmen and students from varied backgrounds and abilities.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff and contribute to program activities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or graduate certificate in Native American Studies or a related field.
• Demonstrated college- or university-level teaching experience.
• Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and use engaging student-centered pedagogy.
• This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience teaching Native American Studies courses at the college or university level.
• Leadership experience in organizational or program activities.

Culture & Benefits

• Part-time pooled appointments vary from several weeks to a semester or academic year.
• Workload is typically 0.2 FTE per three-credit class and depends on departmental needs and available funding.
• Benefits eligibility depends on FTE.
