What you will do
- Apply electric power system and SEL product knowledge to complete complex engineering assignments.
- Lead customers through the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of protection and automation systems.
- Assign, complete, and implement work within agreed scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining quality and safety.
- Support proposals for SEL equipment, services, and systems, including technical scope and preliminary project planning.
- Mentor and develop professional staff and supervise work when required.
- Travel domestically and internationally for customer and project activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant application experience with electric power systems, industry practices, and a related focus area.
- Knowledge of power-system protection and control, integration, automation, communications, technical studies, and protective relay applications.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% of the time, depending on the focus area; commissioning assignments may require up to 80% travel.
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills, with the ability to learn new skills and work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer license or equivalent certification.
- Experience in electrical utilities, industrial plants, consulting engineering, or system integration.
- Project management experience and working knowledge of Vision or similar project-tracking software.
- Experience with protection, automation, design, studies, commissioning, industrial control system security, networking, or full life-cycle project management.
