Legal Engineer (Legal Technology)

Location: London or Paris; hybrid work with up to 40% from home and 60% in the office

What you will do

• Develop and maintain custom coding solutions for legal documents and related workflows.
• Code and automate legal documents in multiple languages using Contract Express.
• Develop bespoke coding solutions for specific legal projects and cases.
• Maintain existing document coding and custom-made automations.
• Configure client sites, manage user access, and follow data retention policies.
• Provide user training, maintain guides, and assist with testing software features and upgrades.

Requirements

• Legal background through a law degree, paralegal or legal specialist experience, or previous work at a law firm.
• Experience working with legal documents, including drafting, editing, updating, and formatting.
• Advanced German and proficient written and spoken English are required.
• Knowledge of Contract Express coding; experience with C#, Python, automation, or logic-based systems is desirable, with training available.
• Experience with AI tools, prompt definition and security, or working with agents is desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• French, Italian, Spanish, Mandarin, or Japanese language capabilities.
• Experience with AI tools, prompt security, and agent-based systems.
• Interest in legal technology and emerging technology products.
