Program Director, NPD Robotics (MedTech)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, United States; hybrid work model with up to approximately 10% domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Lead significant and complex new product development programs combining hardware, embedded systems, workflow automation, cloud applications, and connected digital technologies.
• Form and lead cross-functional development teams, aligning R&D, Commercial, Engineering, sponsors, vendors, and senior leadership.
• Manage project execution, schedules, budgets, risks, opportunities, reporting, and issue resolution to support on-time, high-quality commercialization.
• Oversee cloud application and service delivery using Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Ensure design control, quality management, customer-needs, and Design History File requirements are met for regulated medical-device programs.
• Facilitate engineering design reviews, systems requirements meetings, vendor reviews, governance reviews, and portfolio planning.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of program management experience, including large-scale product platforms and organizational process evolution.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary projects in MedTech or medical devices, including Software as a Medical Device, Medical Device Data Systems, IoT solutions, robotics, or complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience with project management and Agile best practices; PMP or Agile/ScrumMaster certification is preferred.
• Strong negotiation, facilitation, collaboration, problem-solving, organizational change management, and executive presentation skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional global teams without direct line-management authority and manage local, remote, and offshore contributors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent related discipline, such as electrical, software, integrated systems, biomedical, or mechanical engineering.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with FDA regulations and processes.
• Cloud or hosted software project management experience and a technical background in cloud systems.
• Experience with MS Project, Project Server, Jira, Jama, Confluence, SharePoint, or Teams.
