Portfolio Adviser (Madrid)

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work with 4 days in the office and 1 day remotely per week

Base salary: €60,000–€130,000 per year, plus potential variable compensation and benefits

What you will do

• Present investment topics across equities, fixed income, multi-asset strategies, macroeconomics, and thematic investing.
• Represent Wellington’s investment strategies to financial advisors, private bankers, distributors, and other financial intermediary clients.
• Drive flows into recommended strategies and support asset raising and business retention in the Spanish retail market.
• Work with distributors and clients in Spain on the messaging and positioning of investment strategies.
• Coordinate with portfolio management and product management teams across the firm, including teams in the US and Asia.
• Lead product roadshows, client conferences, training sessions, and follow-up communication with the distribution network.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree required; a postgraduate degree such as an MBA or a professional qualification such as CFA is favorable.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in portfolio advisory, product specialist, retail sales, private banking, distribution, or buy-side investment roles.
• Strong experience with financial intermediary clients and knowledge of local distributors preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish and English required.
• Broad investment knowledge across multiple asset classes, capital market theory, investment products, and investment processes.
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal, relationship-building, prioritization, and communication skills, with flexibility and willingness to travel.
