Location: Full-time onsite position in Houston, Texas; must be willing to work at an -designated worksite.

What you will do
- Assemble the daily news daybook and monitor police, emergency, electronic, and local news sources.
- Coordinate interviews, field crew logistics, and newsroom resources for breaking news, weather, and emergency coverage.
- Facilitate comprehensive coverage across broadcast, digital, FAST channels, and web platforms.
- Develop enterprise stories, participate in editorial meetings, and cultivate contacts with Houston-area sources and public information officers.
- Publish online content and edit video for broadcast and social media.
- Support undercover special projects, remote and field interviews, and other assignments from news management.
Requirements
- Fluency in Spanish and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Prior experience as an assignment editor, assignment manager, or in a related role.
- Strong news judgment, writing, research, journalistic ethics, and knowledge of libel, slander, and applicable FCC regulations.
- Experience with online and social media research tools, newsroom computer applications, satellite operations, and microwave newsgathering technologies.
- Unrestricted work authorization in the United States and willingness to work in Houston, Texas.
- Availability for 24/7 shifts, long hours, weekends, holidays, and short-notice schedule changes; a valid driver's license and excellent driving record are required.

- Knowledge of emerging news production techniques and technology.
