Software Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco or Austin, United States

Annual salary: $140,000–$200,000, plus equity.

hirify.global is an early-stage hardware startup that designs and builds the hardware, software, fabs, tools, and components needed to manufacture chips.

What you will do

• Build infrastructure for running AI models across cloud providers and on-premise compute.
• Develop AI agents, shared skills, MCP servers, and sandboxed execution environments.
• Create evaluations and benchmarks to identify agent capabilities, failures, and improvement opportunities.
• Convert engineering knowledge and repeatable workflows into reusable AI tools.
• Develop AI systems for automated experimentation, defect detection, engineering analysis, and fab operations.
• Explore systems that analyze results, recommend next steps, and eventually interact with physical equipment.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience shipping production systems.
• Ability to work across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and data.
• Ability to use AI coding tools while independently reading, writing, debugging, and reasoning about code.
• Strong product instincts and ability to turn ambiguous problems into working systems.
• Strong technical communication and a high degree of ownership.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco or Austin is required.

Nice to have

• Founding engineer, CTO, or early-stage startup experience.
• Experience building AI agents, developer tools, evaluations, or ML infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with GPU or on-premise compute infrastructure.
• Exposure to robotics, hardware, scientific computing, or automated experimentation.
• Experience building software for regulated environments.
