Associate Principal (Process Engineering)

Salary: $170,000–$185,000 per year, plus a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead process engineering design for pet food, meat processing, and industrial manufacturing projects.
• Develop project scopes, process design bases, PFDs, material balances, and P&IDs.
• Specify process mechanical equipment and support instrumentation design.
• Coordinate with discipline leads, vendors, clients, and internal teams throughout project execution.
• Perform process calculations and simulations using AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, HTRI, and similar tools.
• Support construction, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and engineering best-practice development.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 8–15+ years of process engineering experience in industrial manufacturing environments.
• Successful completion of the Professional Engineer (PE) exam.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering principles, industrial systems, and process safety.
• Experience with process calculations, equipment specifications, lean manufacturing, and PFD/P&ID development.
• Strong engineering judgment, communication, leadership, collaboration, and entrepreneurial skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with field construction support, commissioning, and process startup.
