Capital Markets Associate (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Downtown Chicago office, United States; occasional overnight travel is expected.

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year, with potential additional commission and/or incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead underwriting, financial modeling, valuation, and feasibility analysis for commercial real estate development projects.
• Build and modify sophisticated Excel models, including complex waterfalls, partnership structures, and joint venture models.
• Support project capitalization with joint venture equity and work directly with capital providers on Q&A and due diligence.
• Produce investment offering materials, executive summaries, and market underwriting in collaboration with marketing and brokerage teams.
• Provide cap rate guidance through market analysis and comparable transaction tracking.
• Coordinate investment property sale processes and support asset management and portfolio-level investment analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 4+ years of experience in real estate capital markets.
• Strong proficiency in commercial real estate underwriting, valuation, and feasibility analysis.
• Ability to interpret loan, sale, and joint venture documents and make recommendations.
• Experience presenting real estate project strengths and challenges to internal and external stakeholders.
• Verification of employment eligibility to work in the United States is required.

• Experience mentoring capital markets analysts and senior analysts.
