Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service provides emergency response training, workforce training, and technical assistance across infrastructure, safety, law enforcement, cybersecurity, and related fields.

What you will do

  • Deliver online, classroom, and field-based training on confined space entry for water and wastewater professionals.
  • Apply adult learning theories and varied instructional media to support learner success.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on confined space entry procedures and safety.
  • Deliver, set up, and maintain the confined space entry trailer and associated safety equipment.
  • Assist with creating and updating course curriculum and provide technical assistance in the specialty area.
  • Maintain technical competence and report to the Agency Training Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least three years of hands-on confined space entry experience and experience with the operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator’s license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
  • Valid Class A CDL, or ability to obtain one within 180 days of employment.
  • One of the following: Texas Class B Water license or higher, Texas Class B Wastewater license or higher, Texas Class B Distribution license, or Texas Class III Collection license.
  • TCEQ sponsor requirements: 60 hours of classroom instructional experience or approved instructor training in teaching methods/effective instructional techniques and instructional design/evaluation or organizational use of training materials, or the ability to obtain these requirements within six months.
