Director, Business Operations - Global Regulatory & IP

Location: Washington, D.C.; regular in-office presence required four days per week. The role supports global stakeholders and client needs across multiple time zones.

Base salary: $202,230–$242,160 per year, with eligibility for additional compensation including annual discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Develop, execute, and monitor strategic priorities supporting practice growth, profitability, and market leadership.
• Advise senior practice leadership on business performance, operational strategy, organizational effectiveness, and resource allocation.
• Lead strategic planning, business reviews, governance processes, and practice-wide initiatives.
• Develop executive reporting, performance metrics, and business insights for data-driven decision-making.
• Drive process improvement, workflow optimization, and scalable operational solutions.
• Lead transformation initiatives involving technology, artificial intelligence, automation, pricing, legal project management, and service delivery innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA, JD, master’s degree, or other advanced degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a law firm, professional services, consulting, or similarly complex global organization.
• Experience advising senior executives and influencing strategic business decisions.
• Experience leading large-scale strategic initiatives, organizational transformation, change management, and complex cross-functional programs.
• Strong understanding of professional services business models, practice management, financial performance, and profitability drivers.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, business judgment, analytical, communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
