2027 M&A Summer Associate (Boston) (M&A)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; candidates must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base salary: $175,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support live M&A transactions alongside experienced banking professionals.
• Drive multiple workstreams and collaborate with analysts, senior bankers, clients, and deal teams.
• Analyze complex datasets and identify trends using tools such as Capital IQ and FactSet.
• Prepare accurate, client-ready work products in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Translate analysis into actionable insights, deal strategy, and client recommendations.
• Develop accounting, valuation, financial modeling, and transaction-execution expertise through structured training and client engagements.

Requirements

• Ability to work in the U.S. without employment visa sponsorship.
• Recent university or college graduate with little or no professional experience, or a comparable combination of education, certifications, and experience.
• Strong learning agility, curiosity, proactive development, and ability to incorporate feedback.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to the audience.
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, data validation, tables, and conditional formatting, plus PowerPoint proficiency.
• Working understanding of the income statement, cash flow statement, and balance sheet, with willingness to deepen accounting, valuation, and modeling expertise.
• Ability to solve problems, analyze complex data, identify trends, and explain their implications.
• AI literacy: comfort using and directing AI tools while retaining ownership of quality, accuracy, and judgment.
• Ownership, collaboration, attention to detail, planning, organization, leadership, teamwork, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
