Principal Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)

Location: Lebanon, Ohio, United States. Hybrid work is available after onboarding, with 3 days in person and 2 days remote. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, around 8 AM–5 PM.

Salary: USD $140,000 per year.

Designs and manufactures equipment and systems for international pulp and paper process industries at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

What you will do

• Create technical plans for R&D and new product development projects using design control principles and stage-gate processes.
• Oversee new equipment designs, updates, prototyping, testing, manufacturing readiness, and risk management.
• Investigate equipment issues and develop corrective solutions using analytical tools such as FEA, FMEA, DFM, and DFA.
• Review engineering work, prepare technical documentation and test plans, and lead design and progress review meetings.
• Process engineering change requests and notices while supporting manufacturing, quality control, purchasing, and field service.
• Provide technical leadership at customer and supplier sites, including problem-solving, customer-needs research, and field introduction of new products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Fifteen or more years of related experience in industrial machine design.
• Expert knowledge of mechanical behavior under static, dynamic, and fatigue loading.
• Strong machine design experience with weldments, stainless steel, castings, motor gearboxes, and strength of materials.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, ANSYS, parametric 3D design software, and Microsoft Office or related software.
• Technical leadership, mentorship, collaboration, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in an engineering field.
• ERP experience.
• Additional SolidWorks experience.
