Principal Engineer (Mechanical)

Location: Warrendale, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite role.

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 per year, dependent on education and experience, plus an annual target bonus opportunity of 8% of base salary.

What you will do

• Manage mechanical engineering activities across the lifecycle of on-market medical devices and laboratory equipment.
• Create and maintain hardware requirements, design specifications, risk management documentation, and engineering drawings.
• Perform 3D modeling, FEA, FMEA, tolerance analysis, mechanical testing, and design evaluation.
• Develop and execute protocols supporting verification and validation activities.
• Analyze and resolve field and manufacturing product quality issues using engineering principles and problem-solving tools.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and R&D teams while advising colleagues on complex technical problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 2+ years, or a Ph.D. with 1–2 years of experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering theories and practices, including 3D modeling, FEA, and tolerance analysis.
• Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations.
• Effective spoken and written English is required for understanding policies, procedures, training materials, and workplace communications.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer and maintain that authorization without employer sponsorship.
