Senior Client-Platform Engineer (Vue/TypeScript): Building and evolving the ELERA point-of-sale client framework for fixed-lane, self-checkout, kiosk, specialty, associate-mobile, and customer-display experiences with an accent on extensibility, device integration, backward compatibility, and release engineering. Focus on designing dependency-injection and plugin systems, maintaining modern Vue and legacy Dojo applications together, integrating retail hardware, and advancing toward the ELERA POS client architect role.

What you will do
- Design, develop, test, debug, and mentor work on the Vue 3 and TypeScript ELERA POS client framework.
- Own extensibility capabilities, including dependency injection, decorator-based registration, plugin loading, UI slot injection, and configuration merging.
- Maintain backward compatibility and release versioned shared packages consumed by internal teams, retailers, partners, and service engineers.
- Keep the modern Vue client and legacy Dojo application shippable while incrementally migrating the platform.
- Extend integrations with scanners, scales, printers, payment terminals, cash recyclers, and customer displays, including the mock device harness.
- Maintain Maven/npm builds, monorepo publishing, Jenkins pipelines, automated testing, architecture documentation, and supported release lines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience, with 5+ years of professional web development experience for Software Engineer III or 9+ years of full-stack web development experience for Software Engineer IV.
- Strong TypeScript and object-oriented programming skills, including generics, declaration files, and strict-mode development.
- At least 2 years of in-depth Vue 3 or equivalent modern component-framework experience, including reactivity, routing, and centralized state management.
- Experience building shared libraries or frameworks, dependency-injection systems, decorator-based registration, REST/OpenAPI contracts, and Java-based enterprise environments.
- Strong web development knowledge across HTML5, JavaScript, TypeScript, SASS, XML/JSON, ESM, AMD, UMD, and Vite.
- Experience with unit testing, browser automation using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, CI/CD, Git at team scale, operating systems, Agile development, technical writing, and complex debugging.
Nice to have
- Point-of-sale, kiosk, self-checkout, or other retail systems experience.
- Experience with third-party plugin architectures and POS hardware or duplex protocols such as WebSocket or STOMP.
- Experience debugging hardware, firmware, driver, iframe, postMessage, origin, storage, or window-context issues.
- Working knowledge of Dojo, React, AngularJS, Docker, Spring Boot, Swagger, and REST design.
