What you will do

• Verify test requisitions and patient identities before collection.
• Obtain blood specimens through venipunctures and finger sticks.
• Prepare, track, label, and maintain the integrity of specimens using aseptic techniques and department procedures.
• Record quality-control results, follow testing schedules, and report required changes.
• Resolve unusual test orders with physicians, pathologists, nursing stations, and reference laboratories.
• Manage patient reports, triage billing questions, answer patient follow-ups, and schedule courier pickups.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certificate if required by the state.
• Ability to follow hospital policies, professional standards, legal requirements, and JCAHO standards.
• Ability to work in an office setting with scrubs and track each blood draw.
• Completion of HIPAA/PHI privacy, compliance, security, and hirify.global training requirements within the specified timelines.
