Statistical Data Analyst (Puerto Rico)

Location: San Juan, Puerto Rico; hybrid work with on-site attendance at hirify.global offices every Tuesday and Wednesday. The role requires authorization to work in the United States and travel 1–2 times per year.

Salary: $54,000–$67,000 per year.

What you will do

• Acquire, wrangle, structure, maintain, and audit large assessment datasets and databases.
• Conduct statistical analyses and produce concise summaries addressing research and business questions.
• Produce and validate item and test analyses in partnership with psychometricians and researchers.
• Monitor scoring activities and investigate anomalies such as outliers, incorrect data layouts, misrouted scoring, and irregular item statistics.
• Create reproducible analyses, documentation, reports, presentations, and operational procedures.
• Build scalable data pipelines, scripts, queries, and validation routines to automate and modernize analytic workflows.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in statistical analysis, data management, and data visualization.
• Proficiency in a scripting or programming language and database querying, such as R, Python, or SQL/MySQL.
• Experience with data wrangling, visualization, interpretation, reporting, validation checks, workflow documentation, and troubleshooting data discrepancies.
• Preferred master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Psychology, Education, or a related quantitative field; relevant experience may be considered instead.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with CSV, relational tables, JSON, AWS, or other cloud data environments.
• Experience defining requirements for data tools, pipelines, dashboards, or workflow improvements with Technology teams.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled tools, educational measurement, item analysis, classical test theory, or item response theory.
• Experience in education, assessment, credentialing, or a rigorous testing environment.
