Hardware Engineer (AI)

Location: Onsite in San Francisco, California, United States; office attendance 5 days per week

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end engineering development across multidisciplinary hardware domains.
• Expand and refine capabilities within the automated design engine product.
• Apply engineering expertise to automate design workflows and produce construction design deliverables.
• Identify critical bottlenecks and solve the highest-impact technical problems.
• Build hands-on solutions while executing detailed engineering work rather than managing others.

Requirements

• End-to-end engineering ownership within multidisciplinary products such as launch vehicles, motorsports, robotics, or aerospace systems.
• Broad understanding across multiple engineering domains, with deep expertise in one or two areas.
• Strong first-principles thinking and evidence of achieving significant improvements beyond conventional approaches.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with extreme ownership.
• Hands-on engineering experience and strong attention to technical details.
• Ability to work onsite in San Francisco 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience building simulation, calculation, analysis software, or other engineering applications.
• Interest in using AI coding agents to develop scalable engineering tools.
