Senior Application Programmer / Java Developer (Java)

Location: Telework; US citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

What you will do

• Develop, test, debug, and maintain applications using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
• Analyze complex DHS legacy systems and translate mission-critical functionality into modern platform-based architecture.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle and Agile delivery within CI/CD environments.
• Write unit tests, remediate SonarQube findings, and maintain technical documentation and user support materials.
• Support AWS cloud deployments, DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and periodically troubleshoot end-user issues through Help Desk support.

Requirements

• 10+ years of application development and/or Java development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful web services, MVC architecture, and JDBC.
• Experience with React, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, Node, Struts, Maven, and jQuery.
• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, SQL optimization, messaging or streaming technologies, and Windows and Linux environments.
• Current DHS Public Trust Suitability or the ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Palantir; training and certification are provided.
• Experience with Kafka, AppDynamics, DataDog, Terraform, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
