Full Stack Software Developer (Kubernetes / AWS)

Location: Mostly remote, with onsite meetings in Reston, Virginia once per month; a mandatory onsite interview is required in Reston, Virginia.

hirify.global is recruiting for a long-term software development contract supporting a client's legacy web application and AWS migration.

What you will do

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug a complex legacy web application.
• Support the migration of application workloads to AWS.
• Deploy and manage workloads on Amazon EKS and work with Kubernetes-based environments.
• Define system scope and objectives with stakeholders and establish technical baselines.
• Break down software requirements and design highly complex systems.
• Establish project standards and processes within Agile or Scrum environments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience, including full-stack work with an approximate 70% backend and 30% frontend focus.
• Backend experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot, Java web services, JUnit or TestNG, and unit and integration testing.
• Frontend experience with Angular 16+, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Hands-on AWS experience, including several years deploying and managing EKS, AWS cloud migrations, and Playwright in AWS.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience and proficiency with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, the ability to work with existing code, and extensive Agile or Scrum experience.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Developer and/or AWS Certified Architect certification.
• CKE or CKAD certification.
• Experience with API management tools and Git or Bitbucket.
