Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Process Optimization (Generator Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Design and optimize end-to-end manufacturing systems for generator assembly and genset packaging, including skids, enclosures, tanks, and cooling systems.
• Develop capacity strategies, equipment selections, automation roadmaps, plant layouts, digital twins, and simulation models using Arena and FlexSim.
• Lead process development for assembly, electrical integration, packaging, wiring, testing, and fabrication operations.
• Drive Lean transformation through value-stream mapping, SMED, 5S, Kanban, Heijunka, and standardized work.
• Implement automation such as cobots, AGVs, and automated test systems while advancing digital manufacturing with Controls and IT teams.
• Lead cost-out initiatives and capital projects, support DFM/DFA, and mentor junior engineers across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology.
• At least 5 years of related engineering experience in a similar working environment.
• Experience with industrial engineering, systems-level planning, process validation, and analytical problem-solving.
• Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Facilities, Controls, and IT.
• Regular standing, walking, hand manipulation, and occasional lifting of 25–50 pounds are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with generator manufacturing, genset packaging, or power systems integration.
• Knowledge of fuel systems, cooling packages, engine assembly, fabrication, and electrical testing.
• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems.
• Experience with digital manufacturing, IIoT, or Industry 4.0 initiatives.
