Senior Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Hiawatha, Iowa, United States; full-time onsite with 20% travel required

What you will do

• Execute quality management system activities, including First Article Inspections, CAPA, FMEA, MRB, NCMR, complaint handling, and audit support.
• Conduct internal audits and support supplier, source, and customer quality inspections.
• Review contracts to verify that customer quality requirements are covered by current QMS processes.
• Monitor process metrics, reported issues, and failures to identify improvement opportunities.
• Prepare analytical quality reports and recommendations, and benchmark industry best practices.
• Train and mentor colleagues and lead small teams on defined quality projects.

Requirements

• Must be a US Person: US citizen, US permanent resident, or protected person.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, science, or a related field, or five years of relevant quality control, quality analyst, or quality engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Working knowledge of quality principles and processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
• Ability to identify process deficiencies, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions.
• Ability to work onsite in Hiawatha and travel approximately 20%.

Nice to have

• 5–10 years of quality experience in aerospace or a related industry.
• Familiarity with AS9100D, ISO 9001:2008, AS9102, SPC, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Quality certifications such as CQE, Lean, or Six Sigma.
