Retail Clinical Staff Pharmacist

Location: Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, Massachusetts, United States; onsite hospital and retail pharmacy work, including frequent standing and walking, occasional home visits, and weekend, holiday, evening, night, and on-call coverage.

Salary: $114,400.00–$141,756.53 per year.

What you will do

• Review, interpret, prepare, compound, label, and dispense medications in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Monitor medication therapies, identify allergies, interactions, duplications, dosing issues, and other order irregularities, and consult physicians when needed.
• Conduct medication histories, medication reconciliation, patient and family education, medication optimization consultations, and occasional home visits.
• Enter medication orders and clinical information accurately in the pharmacy computer system and electronic medical records.
• Coordinate pharmacy service activities, supervise support personnel, manage controlled-drug needs, and complete medication-station inspections.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality programs, treatment guideline development, research, and continuing education for clinical staff and learners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Pharmacist license required.
• At least one year of related experience.
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, clinical best practices, health-plan formularies, chronic-condition and population management, and medication-use optimization.
• Experience with electronic medical records and proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy technology systems.
• Strong communication, presentation, organizational, problem-solving, prioritization, confidentiality, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
