Associate Category Manager (Food Distribution)

Location: On-site in Naperville, Illinois, United States; domestic travel required occasionally, including some weekends, approximately 10–15%.

Salary: $76,230–$111,744 per year.

What you will do

• Analyze vendor, brand, and SKU performance, promotional programs, sales, unit movement, margins, credits, and distribution points.
• Provide profitability insights to Category Managers and Account Managers to support assortment and enterprise-profit decisions.
• Manage and update reports covering new vendors, SKU productivity, sales performance, roadmaps, and past-due inventory.
• Complete ad-hoc analyses and special projects accurately and on schedule.
• Support category management activities related to bottle deposits, beverage taxes, training manuals, and vendor guides.
• Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, business analysis, sales enablement, sales, and external trade-show teams.

Requirements

• College diploma or equivalent work experience.
• At least one year of experience in category management, administration, or sales management within the food industry.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Word and PowerPoint; experience working with Power BI and KeHE Connect.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with accuracy, urgency, and limited direction.
• Willingness to travel domestically approximately 10–15%, occasionally over weekends.
