Quality Engineer

Location: Texarkana, TX 75505, United States; onsite at the company office or work site. Travel: 10%.

Salary: $80,640–$120,960 per year.

Day & Zimmermann provides engineering and program support involving components, finished products, supplied parts, and ammunition items.

What you will do

• Provide direct quality engineering support to assigned programs.
• Plan and execute defect-prevention and process-improvement methods, applying statistics to problem solving and reporting.
• Coordinate Quality Management System functions and guide the use of FMEA, process mapping, root cause analysis, SPC, inspection methods, and inspection equipment.
• Develop program quality plans, prepare project reports, and maintain QMS documentation and supporting records.
• Lead training matrix reviews and coordinate customer actions and root cause analysis.
• Manage First Article Testing and product inspection for supplied parts and ammunition items.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in quality, a technical field, engineering, or a related Arts/Sciences discipline.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of military and other technical specifications, QMS functions, inspection methods, and quality tools.
• Ability to communicate safety procedures, build cross-disciplinary support, solve problems, prepare complex documents, and make sound decisions.
• Ability to regularly perform all job functions at the company office or work site in Texarkana, Texas.
• Ability to read and write complex documents in English and work in environmental conditions including heat or cold, wind, fumes, odors, gases, and extreme noise.
