(USA) Service Shop Preventative Maintenance Technician - Laurens, SC (2nd Shift)

Location: Laurens, South Carolina, United States; onsite at a Walmart maintenance facility; 2nd shift

Hourly wage: $29.05–$32.55 per hour. Additional premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour may apply in specific circumstances.

What you will do

• Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and component replacements on trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, and service vehicles.
• Create and process work orders, assess repair needs, identify parts, and select repair solutions.
• Repair and replace brake components, wheel seals, and tractor-trailer tires according to DOT requirements.
• Communicate repair updates and complete logs, records, and computer-based documentation.
• Receive fuel deliveries, monitor safety compliance, and prepare fuel samples and related paperwork.

Requirements

• Experience with preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on trailers, tractors, or similar heavy equipment.
• Working knowledge of air, ABS, and disc brake systems and tire dismounting and installation.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Brake inspection qualification under FMCSA Section 396.25 and vehicle inspection qualification under FMCSA Section 396.19.
• Ability to follow DOT guidelines and shop safety procedures.
• Ability to diagnose needs, select parts, document work accurately, and communicate repair details verbally and in writing.
