FDE Lead (AI)

Location: Washington, DC area; hybrid, with regular onsite customer work and up to 50% domestic and OCONUS travel

Salary: $200,000–$260,000 base salary annually, plus equity opportunity

What you will do

• Configure, optimize, customize, and support hirify.global software in customer environments.
• Write and maintain production-quality Python and TypeScript code.
• Work directly with users to understand workflows, gather feedback, and translate insights into product requirements.
• Debug and improve system reliability, performance, and usability based on real-world usage.
• Build technical demonstrations and collaborate with product and engineering teams on customer-driven features.
• Help lead the growing FDE team and contribute to company strategy, culture, and operational improvements.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required; green card holders cannot be considered and visa sponsorship is unavailable.
• Active DoD TS or TS/SCI clearance is required at the time of hire.
• Experience in defense, intelligence, or national security environments.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering or forward-deployed engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript, plus experience with LLMs and modern AI application techniques.
• Experience working with end users or customers in a technical capacity, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous environments.
