TL;DR
PMEL Technician II (Metrology): Calibrating, repairing, troubleshooting, aligning, and certifying electronic, electro-mechanical, physical, dimensional, mechanical, optical, and thermal TMDE in support of the US Air Force Metrology and Calibration Program with an accent on measurement accuracy, calibration traceability, and component-level circuit-board repair. Focus on interpreting technical diagrams, maintaining laboratory quality requirements, documenting results, and providing technical guidance to other technicians.

hirify.global Support Services provides technical support for the US Air Force Metrology and Calibration Program.

What you will do

  • Calibrate, certify, troubleshoot, align, repair, and modify Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
  • Provide intermediate to advanced calibration and repair services across electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, physical, dimensional, mechanical, optical, and thermal measurement disciplines.
  • Capture test readings using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, pulse generators, power meters, torque calibrators, and temperature and pressure measurement devices.
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems and circuit boards to component level, including surface-mount technology.
  • Maintain safety, security, quality management, documentation, and data-entry requirements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis, corrective action meetings, customer issue resolution, and technician training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least four years of verifiable PMEL or calibration technical experience.
  • Experience inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, calibrating, and certifying TMDE and metrology laboratory working standards.
  • Working knowledge of the US Air Force Metrology and Calibration Program, calibration traceability, metrology techniques, laboratory practices, and AFMETCAL procedures.
  • Ability to interpret block, schematic, wiring, and logic diagrams and use the PMEL Automated Management System.
  • Must satisfy background-check criteria and be able to obtain a security clearance. Documentation of equipment and area-discipline qualifications and an excellent quality record is required.

  • Working knowledge of the Next Gen program.
  • Advanced software application experience.
