Jr. Data Scientist (Python)

Location: Hybrid role based out of the Los Angeles office, United States

Annual base salary: $86,000–$94,000, plus benefits and discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Identify, ingest, validate, and explore data from multiple sources to answer business questions.
• Build data pipelines for ongoing data extraction and provide input on ETL pipeline development.
• Apply statistical, classification, prediction, and machine learning methods using reproducible scripts and documented processes.
• Create advanced visualizations, metrics, and KPIs that communicate actionable data insights.
• Gather and document business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and manage prioritization, estimates, and dependencies.
• Present results in business-friendly formats and advise stakeholders on the strengths and limitations of analytical findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, engineering, computer science, business, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Python, R, or similar mathematical programming tools, with Python preferred.
• Proficiency with SQL and modern database management.
• Experience with Spark or similar distributed computing platforms and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while meeting deadlines.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in a data science or analytics department or lab.
• Experience with simulation modeling, large language models, neural networks, or NLP.
• Experience with Excel and PowerPoint.
