Sr. Data Scientist (AWS, AI, ML)

Location: Remote with onsite requests 1–2 times per month in the DC Metro area; candidates must reside in the DC, MD, VA area or touching states.

What you will do

• Identify and solve business problems using statistical modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, operations research, and data mining.
• Build, deploy, and improve predictive models and analytical solutions for high-impact data science projects.
• Lead data science projects from inception to completion and coordinate the work of contributing data scientists.
• Collaborate with product teams to refine requirements and interface with business stakeholders and customers.
• Create analyses, visualizations, prototype demonstrations, and production-ready modules with documentation and unit tests.
• Explain artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistical models, and analytical results clearly to varied audiences.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, including model building and deployment.
• Advanced Python and Spark/Scala skills, with fluency in SQL and experience with ETL, statistical analysis, and data modeling.
• Solid AWS knowledge with expertise in one or more of SageMaker, Bedrock, Kendra, or Lambda.
• Strong expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, supervised and unsupervised learning, forecasting, predictive modeling, clustering, decision trees, random forests, neural networks, and ensemble methods.
• Experience with Python data preprocessing and machine learning libraries, including Scikit-learn, NumPy, and Pandas.
• Ability to independently drive projects to completion, communicate analytical results effectively, and develop production-ready code.

Nice to have

• Experience with AgenticAI.
• Experience with R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, or another statistical package.
• Healthcare analytics and healthcare data structures experience.
• Experience with big data technologies, causal inference, modeling and simulation, or distributed computing with Hive/Hadoop.
• Experience leading data science projects or teams.
