Senior Software Engineer (React)

Location: Milwaukee, WI Corporate; hybrid schedule with telecommuting permitted 2 days per week

Salary: $120,494–$193,310 per year

What you will do

• Enhance and modernize insurance and investment microapps with responsive user interfaces and AWS microservices.
• Design, build, and maintain APIs, databases, external service integrations, and data visualizations.
• Deploy and monitor production services on AWS using Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab pipelines, and CI/CD automation.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot logs, fix bugs, eliminate downtime, and verify weekly deployments.
• Develop unit, visual, and end-to-end tests using Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and Applitools.
• Collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders, explain technical solutions, estimate work, document systems, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience as a software engineer or in a related occupation.
• At least 4 years of experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, CSS frameworks, responsive UI development, frontend architecture, Redux or Context API, and component design.
• At least 4 years of experience designing, building, and deploying scalable REST APIs and working with relational databases, complex queries, stored procedures, and schema design.
• At least 4 years of experience with AWS, frontend testing frameworks, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, performance optimization, Agile/Scrum, and CI/CD tools including GitLab pipelines and infrastructure as code.
