Software Engineer (React/Node)

Location: Jessup, Maryland, with work performed at a contractor facility in Annapolis Junction; partial telework may be available with program approval.

Salary: $125,000–$270,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and optimize responsive user interfaces using React, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Node.js.
• Build web-based graph visualization interfaces that render and support interaction with large-scale datasets.
• Translate wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user stories into clean, reusable, and scalable frontend code.
• Develop and maintain Node.js and Express microservices and secure, documented RESTful APIs.
• Gather requirements and feedback from mission customers, government leadership, analysts, engineers, and end users.
• Debug UI issues, conduct browser testing, participate in code reviews, and optimize application performance and usability.

Requirements

• Fourteen years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or four additional years of relevant software engineering experience in lieu of the degree.
• Strong React and JavaScript UI development experience, including automated testing with ESLint and Jest.
• Strong Node.js and Express experience, including scalable server-side applications, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Section 508/WCAG accessibility standards.
• Must be able to provide documentation verifying U.S. person status under ITAR/EAR requirements; some positions may require current U.S. citizenship.

Nice to have

• Scrum Lead experience and certification.
• Familiarity with Babel, nwsapi, Winston, Graphology, AG Grid, and Sigma.
