Structural Designer II

Location: Dayton, Tennessee, United States; onsite role with up to 10% travel

What you will do

• Assist with the creation and development of frame and structural requirements for new, re-engineered, and supported residential products.
• Create detailed drawings and CAD models for wood, foam, panelboard, metal, and plastic components.
• Support physical prototyping, material evaluation, test planning, and engineering studies with the Test Lab.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation, including wood lists, prints, and bills of materials.
• Implement approved designs across manufacturing plants and supply centers.
• Collaborate with merchandising, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to resolve quality issues and improve designs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 0–2 years of work experience, or equivalent.
• Experience with SolidWorks is required.
• Ability to interpret part prints.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to work effectively in team and cross-functional environments.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and meet applicable driver-management qualifications when driving is required.

Nice to have

• ASQ certification.
• Associate’s degree in engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement.
