Engineer II - Virtualization (Remote)

Location: USA - Remote; US Citizenship or Green Card Holder required

Salary: $100,000–$145,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses and equity grants

What you will do

• Engineer, administer, and maintain open-source virtualization and VMware environments supporting thousands of virtual machines.
• Perform Linux engineering and administration in a production environment.
• Monitor, maintain, and operate production systems.
• Troubleshoot server hardware issues and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Automate common tasks, deploy infrastructure using an IaaS model, and use Chef or similar tools.
• Write scripts and programs for automation tools, frameworks, dashboards, and alarms.

Requirements

• US Citizenship or Green Card Holder status.
• 3+ years of experience in a large-scale production environment.
• Experience with OpenStack and Ansible.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a computer-related field.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional groups and distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Occasional business travel for group meetings and strong attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience with Chef, Python, Go, Perl, PHP, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with public cloud and cloud administration concepts.
• Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
