Major Gifts Program Manager

Location: Bozeman, Montana, United States. Some regional travel and occasional evening or weekend work are required.

Salary: Starting at $72,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of 70–100 major-gift prospects and donors capable of giving $10,000 or more annually.
• Build donor relationships through personal meetings, calls, emails, and other communications.
• Develop individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies and move prospects through the donor pipeline.
• Prepare and present funding opportunities and gift proposals, including personally asking for major gifts.
• Coordinate donor meetings with museum staff, executive leadership, curators, and Board of Trustees members.
• Recognize donors, demonstrate the impact of their contributions, and support retention and increased giving.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Experience securing major gifts of $10,000 or more from a donor portfolio or driving sales from a portfolio of customers.
• Knowledge and experience with moves management, including donor identification, qualification, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation.
• Experience using fundraising or sales software for donor or customer record management.
• Experience composing, editing, and formatting accurate business correspondence.
• Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience using fundraising or sales software for reporting, wealth screening, or analysis of large donor or customer datasets.
• Experience in a major gifts position with similar responsibilities.
