Associate Scientist

Location: San Diego, CA, USA; candidates should live within a commutable distance. Full-time onsite laboratory role, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with additional hours as needed.

Salary: $27–$30 per hour

What you will do

• Perform high-throughput screening experiments involving therapeutic targets to support drug discovery.
• Execute 384-well microplate biochemical assays measuring interactions between small molecules and target proteins.
• Operate automated liquid handling and plate-processing equipment, including ECHO, plate washers, V-preps, BRAVO, and WELLJET.
• Prepare reagents, conduct reagent quality control, and perform chemistry-related calculations.
• Maintain laboratory consumables and follow established SOPs and site EHS requirements.
• Present work at laboratory meetings, support cross-functional groups, troubleshoot issues, and deliver results on schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biological or physical sciences.
• 0–2 years of relevant industry experience in a laboratory setting.
• Ability to read and interpret SOPs and technical reports, perform analyses, and interpret data.
• Strong organization, multitasking, time management, communication, troubleshooting, and practical problem-solving skills.
• Laboratory equipment and office software proficiency, with the ability to conduct small projects with minimal supervision.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
