Experienced/Lateral – Legal Associate

Location: New York office

Annual base salary: $150,000–$200,000, excluding discretionary bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide legal analysis of new business opportunities, markets, products, and trading activities.
• Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs and commercial agreements covering technology, data, and vendors.
• Draft, review, and negotiate trading and counterparty documentation.
• Advise on general corporate, employment, and personnel matters.
• Manage outside counsel when specialist legal input is required.
• Collaborate with colleagues and counsel across multiple offices and jurisdictions.

Requirements

• JD or equivalent degree.
• Admission to practice in New York.
• At least five years of relevant experience at a major law firm, in-house, or a combination of both.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills across a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Sound commercial judgment and the ability to provide clear, practical advice to non-legal audiences.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, stay organized, and operate across jurisdictions.
