Sr. Accountant

Location: Chicago, IL; applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $82,400–$100,950 per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility depending on level and role.

What you will do

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for complex and highly technical accounting areas during the monthly close.
• Support internal and external financial reporting, including Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, and Form 8-K filings.
• Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and analytical tools for a streamlined accounting function.
• Develop, implement, and monitor corporate accounting policies.
• Deliver financial reporting and accounting support to business leaders and partner departments.
• Execute SOX internal controls and coordinate efficient reviews and audits with internal and external auditors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA certification.
• 3+ years of financial reporting or accounting experience.
• Current expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting rules and regulations.
• Experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting firm, or in corporate accounting and reporting.
• Understanding of SOX compliance requirements, strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT.
