Reliability Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Hybrid onsite in Mercury, Nevada, on the National Nuclear Test Site; occasional travel to support project meetings and coordination with partner sites. The role requires United States citizenship and successful completion of a federal background check and federal drug test.

Salary: $130,000–$165,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Develop reliability-centered maintenance strategies for the Scorpius Accelerator.
• Perform failure analysis, root cause investigations, and equipment risk assessments.
• Improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Monitor asset health and recommend corrective actions.
• Partner with work management and engineering teams on critical asset reliability.
• Support reliability metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5–10 years of relevant engineering or industrial experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, processing plants, utilities, industrial facilities, metallurgy, or similar environments.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• United States citizenship and the ability to work hybrid onsite in Mercury, Nevada are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with DOE, NNSA, LANL, LLNL, or NNSS.
• Active DOE clearance.
