Supplier Quality Manager (Automotive)

Location: hirify.global Nantong plant, China; regular travel within APAC required

What you will do

• Develop and deploy the annual APAC supplier quality strategy, standards, procedures, and performance objectives.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with country Quality teams, plants, Purchasing, Engineering, Program Management, and Supplier Development.
• Manage supplier risks, mitigation plans, scorecards, audit findings, escalations, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Govern supplier quality planning and launch readiness, including feasibility, APQP, PPAP, SPSO, capacity verification, and launch-risk closure.
• Oversee supplier audit planning, auditor qualification, corrective-action closure, and compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
• Coach APAC SAQE and SQE personnel and provide onsite support to critical suppliers, including China-based suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in automotive quality or supplier quality, including supplier improvement, audits, launches, or major quality escalations.
• Strong influencing, coaching, decision-making, stakeholder-management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Thorough knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, process capability, and change control.
• Advanced problem-solving skills using 8D, A3, 5-Why, Ishikawa, Six Sigma, Shainin, statistical analysis, and corrective-action verification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese, plus willingness and ability to travel regularly within APAC.

Nice to have

• Automotive seating experience.
• Knowledge of seating commodities such as stamping, welding, plastics, or trim.
• VDA 6.3 or equivalent auditor qualification.
• Experience with engineering drawings, GD&T, gauge design, measurement methods, and measurement-system evaluation.
