Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; onsite role with up to 15% travel

What you will do

  • Provide engineering support for Environmental Control Systems used on helicopters, unmanned air vehicles, and fixed-wing platforms.
  • Review test plans, test reports, analyses, design changes, and engineering change proposals for specification, qualification, and airworthiness compliance.
  • Witness tests, evaluate results, inspect post-test hardware, and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
  • Support failure investigations, procedure validations, depot and repair activities, Product Verification Audits, alternate source evaluations, and Manufacturing Review Boards.
  • Perform thermal, thermodynamic, risk, reliability, data reduction, and performance analyses for air, water, hydraulic fluid, gas, vapor, and steam systems.
  • Provide technical and project engineering support for Component Improvement Program, Condition Based Maintenance, and Cost Wise Readiness activities.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline and 15 years of experience.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and parts lists.
  • Documented experience performing thermal analyses and steady-state and transient thermodynamic design and analysis.
  • Experience with risk analysis, reliability analysis, data reduction, Environmental Control performance evaluation, and compliance recommendations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of War security clearance.
