TL;DR
Software Engineer II (Python): Building backend systems for a HIPAA-compliant behavioral health patient portal with an accent on distributed systems, data modeling, and event-driven EHR integrations. Focus on designing async workflows, optimizing SQL-backed systems, delivering features end-to-end, and contributing React frontend work when needed.
Location: Onsite in the Vadodara office, 5 days per week; remote applicants will not be considered. Shift: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM IST.

What you will do
- Design and implement backend systems for a HIPAA-compliant patient portal in the behavioral health domain.
- Own complex features end-to-end, from architecture through deployment.
- Contribute to system design decisions and improve engineering standards across the team.
- Integrate external EHR systems through asynchronous, event-driven pipelines.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
- Deliver frontend features in React when needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production applications with Python, Django, or similar stacks.
- Strong systems-thinking skills, including reasoning about distributed state, failure modes, and long-term design tradeoffs.
- Deep SQL and data modeling experience, including migrations, query optimization, and schema design.
- Experience with asynchronous workflows, event-driven architecture, and message queues.
- AWS proficiency with Lambda, SQS, SNS, or comparable services.
- React experience and daily proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
Nice to have
- Experience in healthcare or other compliance-heavy domains.
- Experience integrating EHRs or other third-party platforms.
- Interest in growing toward technical leadership.
