Associate Designer - Madewell Women's Cut & Sew Knits

Location: New York, NY, USA (Headquarters); hybrid work model

Salary: $64,200–$79,600 per year, plus potential bonus

What you will do

• Develop seasonal concepts, color stories, fabrics, prints, trims, and graphics with Design Directors and Senior Designers.
• Prepare presentation boards, illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication samples, and garment samples.
• Research seasonal trends, themes, colors, raw materials, and styling for assigned product classifications.
• Execute seasonal line lists and meet product development calendar deadlines.
• Coordinate with Technical Design on specifications from initial concept through technical design cards.
• Conduct fittings and collaborate with Production to maintain the design concept throughout production.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of design experience and a BA or degree in Apparel or Fashion Design.
• Strong illustration, sketching, presentation, color, and creative skills.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and lab dips.
• Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, PLM, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, follow-through, and deadline management skills.
