(USA) Designer, Fashion- Women's Denim

Location: Onsite at the Apparel Merchandising NY Office, 45 W 25th St, New York, NY, United States

Annual salary: $108,000–$216,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Support seasonal denim concepts and create mood boards aligned with the brand’s DNA.
• Oversee vendor development of detailed CADs and technical sketches.
• Prepare and maintain pass-offs covering construction details, fabrics, trims, and wash instructions.
• Manage seasonal wash development, including comments, approvals, and shipping.
• Participate in fittings and provide feedback on construction and denim fit execution.
• Communicate proactively with vendors, manage denim archives and sample libraries, and deliver work against overlapping seasonal deadlines.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of professional apparel design experience, focused on denim bottoms, jackets, and washed apparel.
• Strong knowledge of denim fabrications, stretch performance, rigid structures, fabric weights, indigo and sulfur dyeing, laundry processing, and garment construction.
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite and product lifecycle management systems.
• Ability to collaborate with Merchandising, Sourcing, Technical Design, and global vendor teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, textile design, apparel design, or a related field with 3 years of relevant experience, or 5 years of relevant experience without the degree.

Nice to have

• Experience with 3D design software and collaborative platforms such as Miro.
• Ability to present design concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience managing seasonal collections from concept to production.
• Strong understanding of fit, construction, and technical specifications.
