Senior Merchandise Manager: Living Room & Office Furniture (Retail)

What you will do

• Develop and execute strategic merchandise plans for living room and office furniture assortments.
• Manage assortment profit and loss, costs, performance schedules, and contract scope.
• Analyze customer, competitor, market, financial, operational, and trade-show data to forecast demand and identify product needs.
• Evaluate vendors, develop supplier relationships, identify new sourcing opportunities, and monitor supplier quality and fulfillment.
• Create inventory plans and recommend procurement changes that improve service and quality or reduce costs.
• Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, management, and cross-functional teams on strategy execution and promotional calendars.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of merchandising experience in lifestyle classifications, including 3+ years of management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, time-management, decision-making, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, collaborate across departments, and influence people across the organization.
• Managers must be able to coach reports, build high-performance teams, and hire and lead diverse teams.

Nice to have

• SQL skills.
• Graduate degree in merchandising, supply chain, business, economics, or a related field.
