TL;DR
Director, Global Technical Accounting Transaction Support (Biopharma): Providing technical accounting advice and documenting complex transactions, operational projects, business initiatives, and contractual agreements under US GAAP, IFRS, and Sanofi’s accounting guide with an accent on revenue recognition, mergers and acquisitions, divestments, alliances, leases, and financial instruments. Focus on assessing accounting and reporting consequences, preparing formal position papers, supporting SOX controls and hard closing, and collaborating with senior management, finance teams, and auditors.

Location: Morristown, New Jersey, United States; onsite

Salary: $161,250–$232,916.66 per year

What you will do

  • Provide technical accounting advice on revenue recognition, out-licensing, mergers and acquisitions, divestments, alliances, collaborations, licensing arrangements, leases, and other strategic projects.
  • Review proposed financial instrument accounting treatments and assess the accounting consequences of contemplated transactions and agreements.
  • Collaborate with Consolidations and Statutory Reporting, Account to Report, Tax, Treasury, Internal Control, and external auditors.
  • Prepare and communicate formal accounting position papers, memoranda, and input for the Group accounting manual.
  • Assess the impact of new accounting and reporting pronouncements on contractual arrangements and operational initiatives.
  • Support global account committees and the hard closing process by ensuring complex one-off transactions are documented, concluded, and properly reported.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related area.
  • 7–10 years of professional experience.
  • CPA certification.
  • Management or supervision experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and team-building skills.
