News Producer - Part Time

Support WKBN television newscasts and the WKBN+ digital streaming platform.

What you will do

• Produce daily television newscasts and contribute to WKBN+ shows.
• Monitor scanners, phones, emails, and digital sources to find and develop stories.
• Pitch story ideas and write and edit news content for television and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with reporters, anchors, and digital teams.
• Use OBS streaming software and newsroom systems for television and digital production.

Requirements

• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Solid news judgment and the ability to make decisions independently.
• Ability to multitask and work under deadline pressure in a high-stress newsroom environment.
• Currently pursuing or recently completing a degree in Journalism, Communications, TV/Film, or a related field; equivalent experience and training may be considered.
• Ability to sit, reach, communicate clearly, write news copy, and lift equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with non-linear editing.
